Hamlet Masterclass
Since humble beginnings in 2003, The Actors’ Temple has established an internationally sought after professional actor-training through which we have developed a deep and powerful understanding of the actor’s work. Our approach is firmly rooted in the ideas and techniques pioneered by Sanford Meisner and focuses on simple human contact and its resulting behaviour. We have all trained under one roof and share not only a technical approach, but also an outlook to our work both as individuals and as part of an ensemble.
By opening up our rehearsal process to a participating audience we hope to show a side of theatre normally kept behind closed doors but no less fascinating than watching a final performance. We invite you to share our thoughts and fears as actors and see us overcome moments of self-consciousness and doubt as we attempt to bring the play to life. You will be invited to offer suggestions on how we can make it work better and overall be part of an in-depth exploration into the play of all plays; paving the way for a more inclusive and open minded approach to theatre.
We suggest familarising yourself with the play before attending the Masterclass to ensure you get the very most of the experience.
